CNN Heroes 10th Anniversary did an update show back in December, and we were lucky enough to be featured! The video clip now lives on the interweb. Take a look to see what’s been happening since Chad Pregracke was awarded Hero of the Year back in 2013.
Save the Date! The Putnam Museum (Davenport, IA) are hosting Family Fun Nights on the 3rd Friday of every month this year! In March, the theme will be “GO GREEN…recycle, reduce, and reuse. LL&W will have an informative table as well as a basket to be raffled off.
Admission to the Grand Lobby activities for the general public are free to enjoy. We also invite a school in the Quad Cities to visit ( 100 – 150 people), by providing transportation, a small meal (if donated) and full access to the Museum!
Check out Chad and the LL&W crew featured on the CNN Heroes 10th Anniversary Special, CNN Superhero: Above and Beyond, THIS FRIDAY, December 9 on CNN/US and CNN International at 9pm CT. We will be one of five being showcased!
We will also be highlighted at the LIVE crowning of the 2016 CNN Hero of the Year on Sunday, December 11 at 7pm CT. Don’t forget to tune in!

LL&W is teaming up with Quad City CrossFit for their first ever “QCCF Ruck and Rally” on May 21, 2016 starting at 2pm. March 2016 – LL&W is in Memphis for the month hosting three-weeks of Alternative Spring Break for college students!

OCTOBER 2015 – Our new operations are officially up and running! We are excited to start on our goal of 1 million pounds of trash! A new feature has also been added to the website. Check out our interactive timeline with some exclusive photos from the very beginning of LL&W!
SEPTEMBER 2015 – On 9/2 we officially launched our new barge and operations! With the help of a new John Deere Excavator with a custom 50-feet reach, and mini-tug, we aim to remove 1 million pounds of trash from America’s Rivers this season!
JULY-AUGUST 2015 – LL&W has spent the summer getting ready for our Ohio River Tour this fall. A new barge, mini truckable tow boat and John Deere excavator will soon join our fleet! With the help of our new additions, it is our goal to remove 1 million lbs of trash this year.

MARCH 2015 – Our 5th annual Alternative Spring Break in Memphis, TN went off without a hitch this year! We were able to work with 142 college students from 15 colleges in 10 states, and 58 community volunteers to remove 104, 385 lbs of trash from McKellar Lake!
FEBRUARY 2015 – LL&W is proud to announce we will be launching our first ever iPhone app (also available on Androids), which be available in app stores this summer. “River Cleanup” will link with an interactive map on our website and as we continue our work on U.S. Waterways, will show how our mission statement ignites through the towns we visit. Users will be able to use the check-in like feature to log where they have held their own cleanups, post pictures, and share with their friends! Stay tuned for more details!

MAY 2014 – LL&W broke ground on our new tree nursery in Davenport, IA. 300,000 acorn were planted! We look forward to using the trees we harvest here in the years to come for our MillionTrees Project!
Other 2014 News – After bringing our tug boat up to speed in 2013 with a complete repower (three PowerTech 9.0L marine propulsion engines), CK Power Products (a division of John Deere) generously stepped in again this year and donated two 50-kW generator sets to help power our house barge.
