More than 2,600 bags of trash were removed from the Potomac and Anacostia rivers during Capital River Relief 2006! We’re calling on all volunteers to make 2007 just as successful.
2007 CAPITAL RIVER RELIEF UPDATE
Capital River Relief, the most ambitious cleanup of the capital region’s rivers, is gearing up to begin its 2007 effort to purge the Potomac and Anacostia rivers. Following the announcement of last year’s successful removal of more than 2,600 bags of trash, organizers, volunteers and local community and business organizations have begun pledging their strident support to keep our rivers just as clean as our monuments.
Since its inception in 2004, CRR has removed almost 300 tons of trash from the Potomac and Anacostia rivers with the help of hundreds of volunteers, businesses and community leaders.
